Public finance, inequality and economic policy.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Finance at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Türkiye. I study how taxation, fiscal policy and economic change shape poverty, inequality and everyday life.
My research combines applied econometrics with historical and institutional analysis, with a particular interest in population aging, energy and Ottoman public finance.

Background
I received my PhD in Public Finance from Pamukkale University in 2022, studying the determinants of child and older-adult poverty in Türkiye. My master’s research at Dokuz Eylül University (2016) examined nineteenth-century Ottoman taxation through the temettuat registers of Niğde. I graduated from Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences in 2013.
