Public finance, inequality and economic policy.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Finance at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Türkiye. I study how taxation, fiscal policy and economic change shape poverty, inequality and everyday life.
My research combines applied econometrics with historical and institutional analysis, with a particular interest in population aging, energy and Ottoman public finance.

Poverty and inequality. Child and older-adult poverty, gender, health and the distributional effects of public policy.
Energy and the environment. Energy poverty, renewable energy, environmental taxation and climate policy.
Economic history. Ottoman public finance, the history of taxation and economic thought.
Background
I received my PhD in Public Finance from Pamukkale University in 2022, studying the determinants of child and older-adult poverty in Türkiye. My master’s research at Dokuz Eylül University (2016) examined nineteenth-century Ottoman taxation through the temettuat registers of Niğde. I graduated from Ankara University’s Faculty of Political Sciences in 2013.
